Wild Altun Mountains

The Altun Mountains National Nature Reserve is located in Ruoqiang County and Qiemo County of Bayingolin Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China’s Xinjiang, adjacent to China’s Qinghai province and China's Tibet Autonomous Region, with an area of 45,000 square kilometers and an average altitude of over 4600 meters. The Altun Mountains National Nature Reserve is surrounded by high mountains. Glaciers, plateau lakes, and plateau deserts, as well as a wide variety of rare and valuable animals such as Tibetan wild donkeys, Tibetan antelopes, wild yaks, black-necked cranes, Tetraogallus tibetanus, Aquila heliaca, and Haliaeetus leucoryphus, together with 387 species of wild plants, are magnificent plateau wonders.(Video by Wen Xinghua)
