In recent days, the high-standard farmland in Jiagasitai Town, Qapqal Xibe Autonomous County, Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture, has been busy with construction. Qapqal County began to implement high-standard farmland construction projects in 2019. At present, 1.2186 million mu of high-standard farmland has been completed. In 2023, Qapqal County plans to build another 300,000 mu of high-standard farmland, improving quality and efficiency by 10,000 mu, covering 10 townships and 30 administrative villages. After the project is completed by the end of November this year, the area of high-standard farmland in Qapqal County will account for 91.02% of the total farmland area, saving about 50 cubic meters of water per mu, and reducing various inputs by about 150 yuan per mu. It is expected that the yield and income of major grain crops such as wheat and corn will increase by about 100 kilograms. (Photo by Hua Yanming)
