At present, the 45,000 mu of cherries in Shache County, Kashgar Prefecture, northwest China’s Xinjiang have entered the picking season. These cherries have bright color and mellow taste, and are deeply loved by consumers.

On May 14th, 2023, walking into the "Mixiahong" cherry orchard in Xamalbagh Village, Mixia Town, Shache County, the green branches were covered with bright red fruits, and the fruit farmers were busy picking.

Located in the northeast of Shache County, 3.5 kilometers away from the county, the orchard introduced cherries of 8 varieties from Yantai, Shandong Province in 2002, including Rabins, Meizhao, Yanyang and others. This year, due to the warmer climate, the cherry picking season has been brought forward by about a week, and some cherries are already ripening. At present, more than 4,000 mu of cherries are planted in the orchard, and the income of growers per mu is 30,000-50,000 yuan.

In order to ensure the quality and good taste of cherries, Shache County has done a lot of work in planting, picking, and selling. In terms of planting, efforts in management and protection have been intensified; In terms of picking, farmers adopted manual picking to avoid damage to the fruit caused by machine; In terms of sales, Shache County actively cooperates with merchants to sell cherries throughout the country and carries out rural e-commerce promotion activities to increase the popularity, and eventually the sales of cherries.
