Since the beginning of 2023, the number of domestic vehicles exported through the Alataw Pass has shown a steady rising trend.

According to the Customs of Alataw Pass, a total of 17,500 vehicles were exported through the Alataw Pass in the first quarter, a year-on-year increase of 669.8%. Among them, railway ports had the highest export quantity, reaching 17,400 vehicles, with an increase of 667.1% year on year; Although the number of export vehicles of highway ports is less than that of railway ports, the growth rate is rapid, with a year-on-year increase of 11.8 times.

As an important opening port to the west in China, the export data of Alataw Pass not only represents Xinjiang, but also reflects the export trend of the domestic industry. Therefore, behind the large export of domestic vehicles at ports, it reflects the rise of China's automotive industry and its popularity in the global automotive market.

“As one of the export sites for domestic products entering the international market, we have witnessed the changes in vehicle exports,” said Dong Jianjiang, chief of the Second Supervision Department of the Customs of Alataw Pass.

Dong Jianjiang said, in 2023, the export of domestic vehicles at the Alataw Pass has shown explosive growth. At the same time, the export growth rate of new energy vehicles has also increased significantly, becoming one of the fastest-growing types of exported vehicles.

To further serve the export of domestic vehicles and meet the needs of the international market for domestic vehicles, the Customs of Alataw Pass has implemented a series of customs facilitation measures such as appointment clearance and consolidation of manifests, helping the arrival, inspection and departure of China-Europe freight trains on time, and promoting fast customs clearance of goods.

At present, there are a total of 104 China-Europe freight train routes entering and departing through the Alataw Pass, connecting to 19 countries.
