The wheat harvesting progress in NW China’s Xinjiang has exceeded half

Shiliuyun-Xinjiang Daily (Reporter Liu Yi) news: Informed by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Xinjiang, recently, farmers in Xinjiang have seized the agricultural time to promote the "three summer jobs", i.e., planting, harvesting and field management. Up to now, 9 million mu of wheat have been harvested in Xinjiang, which is half of the whole progress.

It is introduced that areas where wheat has been harvested are mainly southern Xinjiang and Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture. Among them, in Kashgar Prefecture and Hotan Prefecture, the winter wheat has been basically reaped, and in Aksu Prefecture and Kizilsu Kyrgyz Autonomous Prefecture, the work of harvesting the winter wheat has come to an end. In southern Xinjiang, now is the time to harvest spring wheat. In Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Bortala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture and other places in northern Xinjiang, the winter wheat will be harvested in a week.

At present, 360,000 mu of wheat in Baicheng County, Aksu Prefecture, northwest China's Xinjiang, has gradually ripened. Farmers feel reassured that organized machinery and equipment are ready for the harvesting work after being overhauled and debugged.

“They helped us hire a harvester in advance, so that we can harvest the wheat in a sunny day,” Aerziguli Tuerdi, a villager in Yamansu Village, Mijike Township, Baicheng County, northwest China's Xinjiang, said that with the help of large machinery, her 35 mu of wheat could be harvested on time.

To harvest all of the summer grain crops, it is key to conduct mechanized operation. At the beginning of promoting the “three summer jobs”, various regions have carried out field management work based on the growth of cereal crop seedlings, while actively maintaining, overhauling, and debugging the reaping machines. They have organized the allocation of machinery from different regions to ensure the progress of wheat harvesting. At present, 10119 combine harvesters have been used in Xinjiang, accounting for 99.93% of the total wheat harvest area.

Autumn grain is an important part of grain production in the whole year. After the harvest of winter wheat, the relevant department should actively urge farmers to make preparations for the land to plant multiple cropping seedlings. Premised on the area of winter wheat, the sown area of multiple cropping seedling will only increase. At present, all kinds of multiple crops seedlings have been sown over 6 million mu in all places of Xinjiang, and the multiple sowing area is mainly concentrated in southern Xinjiang. Among them, the area of corns planted on the multiple sowing plot has surpassed 3 million mu, exceeding the planned task, and crops such as soybeans, silage corn and vegetables are also being planted as planned.

Recently, relevant departments in all places of Xinjiang have made full plans for disasters such as weather disasters, pests and diseases that may occur when promoting the “three summers jobs”, constantly improved the disaster prevention and mitigation mechanisms, and tried their best to avoid and mitigate the losses of various disasters. At the same time, they have been going all out to do a good job in the allocation and transportation of agricultural materials to ensure that all kinds of crops can be re-sown as scheduled. At present, the supply of agricultural materials in the whole region is low in price and sufficient in quantity, and the water supply for multiple sowing is solid, which can meet the production demand of summer sowing.
