In early August, the natural pasture in Altay City is covered with green grass. Entering the best harvest season, the 10,000 mu of natural pasture in the valley of Saerhusong Township, Altay City, northwest China’s Xinjiang, shows a busy scene. Mowers, hay rakes, bundling machines and other large machinery work in turn, and herdsmen are busy harvesting the hay for livestock to overwinter. Bundles of hay and busy herdsmen form the most beautiful scenery on the pasture.
In recent years, Altay City has strengthened the protection of natural pasture through the implementation of measures such as replanting and improvement, building fences and poisonous plant control, so that the pasture ecology continues to improve, and the amount of grass production substantially increases.
