The intangible cultural heritage products of Erdaoqiao show their charm at the 2023 (China) Eurasia Commodity and Trade Expo in NW China’s Xinjiang

Shiliuyun-Xinjiang Daily (Reporter Ren Jiang) news: At the 2023 (China) Eurasia Commodity and Trade Expo, Xinjiang Erdaoqiao Culture and Tourism Group mainly exhibit cultural products like wooden bowls, plates, and pots of original color, Atlas silk made with ancient dyeing methods, and the BEE&FLOWER brand sandalwood soap made by the 95-year-old Shanghai Soap Co., Ltd.

"We have brought more than 30 varieties of characteristic products, hoping to promote them through the exhibition and make cooperation.Luan Lixin, chairman of the company, said that in order to have a wonderful presence at the Expo, Xinjiang Erdaoqiao Culture and Tourism Group and Shanghai Erdaoqiao Culture and Tourism Company have selected intangible cultural heritage related products to participate in the expo.

The characteristic raw wood wares in their raw color are placed in the modern and fashionable pavilion, showing an obvious contrast, which makes many participants stop by. These wood wares are made of white poplar, paulownia, willow, apricot, jujube and mulberry trees, etc., and are scraped, molded, and engraved with patterns and decorations. The wood wares exhibited at this expo are all intangible cultural heritage products produced by the merchants in the Erdaoqiao bazaar of the Erdaoqiao Culture and Tourism Group. The staff members often receive questions from the participants as to how the patterns on the wood wares were formed, and they will explain that it was ironed out with fire, and as long as the wood wares stay intact, the patterns would be preserved permanently.

In the pavilion of Erdaoqiao Culture and Tourism Group, there are also Atlas silk, carpets, tapestries and cosmetics made of horse oil and camel oil, etc. Some merchants who have been running business in Erdaoqiao Grand Bazaar for many years have also sent their time-honored specialties such as Chinese herbal medicines, shawls, scarves and other commodities. Besides, Shanghai Erdaoqiao Culture and Tourism Company displayed the BEE&FLOWER brand sandalwood soap and other BEE&FLOWER series products produced by the 95-year-old company.

These products are welcomed by participants of the 2023 (China) Eurasia Commodity and Trade Expo, and there are already customers coming to ask for cooperation. "As an enterprise engaged in cultural tourism for more than 20 years, we will continue to explore the market for intangible cultural heritage products, improve the inheritance and innovation of intangible cultural heritage, and continue to build the influence of the Erdaoqiao brand," Luan Lixin said.
