Shiliuyun-Xinjiang Daily (Reporter Liu Donglai) news: Farewell to Lianyungang, we went all the way to the west, took the high-speed rail, and came to Zhengzhou at full speed. We were accompanied by the never-ending China-Europe freight trains.

This is a thriving city in central China. Over the past decade since the proposal of the Belt and Road Initiative, Zhengzhou has developed at an astonishing speed. It constantly gathers the energy of the whole China, connecting with the sea and reaching the Tianshan Mountains.

At the Zhongzhou Converter Station of the State Grid Henan HVDC Center in Zhengzhou City, we can feel the continuous power that converges here from Xinjiang. The ±800kV Tianzhong UHVDC transmission project was completed and put into operation on January 27, 2014. Starting from Xinjiang’s Hami City in the west and reaching Zhengzhou, Henan Province in the east, this "power flight" delivers clean electricity from Xinjiang to the Central Plains, 2,192 kilometers away, in just 7 milliseconds. It has achieved the goal that coal is transported through the air and electricity is transmitted to the Central Plains, and thus making it the modern "Power Silk Road."

In addition to the current, continuous innovation has also given this land vitality. Over the past decade, innovation has become a crucial “magic weapon” for Zhengzhou in jointly pursuing the Belt and Road Initiative. The bonded goods preparation mode, originating from Zhengzhou, has made large-scale and high-quality cross-border e-commerce a reality and continuously promoted it nationwide and worldwide. Various innovations such as “integration of transport and trade” and “digital freight trains” emerged in Zhengzhou, continuously driving the city to radiate vitality.

Thanks to the vigorous development over the past decade, Zhengzhou has undergone rapid changes. The economic vitality stimulated by the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative has entered into the daily lives of local residents in various ways. Whether it's at urban landmarks or on the streets, people are fully enjoying the benefits of this era's development.
