Photo taken on September 1, 2023 shows a crab farmer showcases his harvested crabs. Currently, the crab harvest season has arrived in the Bosten Lake in Bohu County, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The lake is lush with greenery, and the water is clear, with fishing boats shuttling back and forth. The crab farmers are busy catching crabs. Bosten Lake is the largest inland freshwater lake in China, with a water area of 1646 square kilometers. The water quality of the lake is clear, and there is abundant natural bait. Through the ecological farming model of “natural cultivation after releasing crab seedlings”, the crabs produced here have large sizes and full crab roe, making them highly favored in the market. The crabs are sold to Shanghai, Zhejiang, Guangzhou, Jiangsu, and other places in China. (Photo by Nian Lei)
