On September 1, 2023, the reporting team of "Discover Xinjiang through Its Rivers and Lakes" came to Xikaner Village, Naomaohu Town, Yiwu County, northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region,and villagers were busy picking, sorting, and shipping Hami melons in the fields, showing a bumper harvest scene. Naomaohu Town is 160 kilometers away from the East Tianshan Mountains, and has a typical continental climate. Sufficient sunlight, dry climate and scarce precipitation make this area very suitable for growing Hami melons. Hami melons produced here can reach a sugar content of 15 degrees or more, and are characterized by their vibrant color, crisp taste, excellent marketability, good storage and transportation capabilities. The late-maturing Hami melon planting area in Numaohu Town reaches 41,500 mu. At present, the Hami melons produced by this town have been ordered by melon merchants all over the country.
