Road of Prosperity: China-Europe freight trains pass through the Horgos Port smoothly

Shiliuyun-Xinjiang Daily (Reporter Cai Zengle) news: In autumn, Horgos Railway Port in Horgos, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is busy. Colorful containers are packed neatly in the transit yard, and trains from home and abroad have completed transshipment with gantry cranes. The outbound goods are loaded onto broad-gauge trains, and the inbound goods are loaded onto standard-gauge trains. Trains flow in and out smoothly in a stream.

In recent years, Horgos Station has continuously optimized the workflow according to the operation scheme of the China-Europe freight trains, ensuring the orderly connection of tasks such as receiving and dispatching trains, decoupling trains, and unloading goods. It has also improved the turnover rate of both broad-gauge and standard-gauge railways, realized uninterrupted receiving and dispatching of trains, and ensured the smooth operation of China-Europe (Central Asia) freight trains. As of August 31, 2023, a total of 5,156 China-Europe (Central Asia) freight trains had passed through Horgos Railway Port this year, an increase of 11.6% compared with the same period last year.

At present, the number of China-Europe freight trains passing through the Horgos Railway Port exceeds 30,000 in total, and the total number of China-Europe freight train routes reaches 78, reaching 18 countries and 45 cities and regions outside China.
