Shiliuyun-Xinjiang Daily (Reporter Cai Zengle) news: Aksu Prefecture is adjacent to the Tianshan Mountains to the north and the Kunshan Mountains to the south. There are mainly three major water systems in Aksu Prefecture, namely the Aksu River, Weigan River, and Tarim River, with 151 rivers of all sizes. Aksu City is known as "Baishui City", meaning a city with "clear and surging water".
In autumn, members of “Discover Xinjiang through Its Rivers and Lakes” reporting team came to Aksu Prefecture to feel the charm of the oasis.

Red apples, golden rice fields, lucid lakes and lush forests form a splendid ecological picture.

In recent years, Aksu Prefecture has continuously practiced the concept of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", adhering to the integrated protection and systematic management of mountains, rivers, forests as well as farmlands, lakes, grasslands and deserts. It has comprehensively strengthened water resource protection, water pollution prevention and control, and water ecological restoration. Starting from the greening of the Kekeya Desert, four 1-million-mu of ecological management projects have been successively implemented in the Aksu River Basin, Weigan River Basin, Kongtailike region, and Aiximan region, 4.5 million mu of characteristic forests and fruits have greened the desert and helped the farmers to get a well-off life, showing the ecological picture of harmonious coexistence between human and nature.
