Road of Prosperity:  China-Kazakhstan Horgos International Border Cooperation Center

Shiliuyun-Xinjiang Daily (Reporter Cai Zengle) news: The Xinjiang Daily "Road of Prosperity—Belt and Road Reporting Project" interview team went to the China-Kazakhstan Horgos International Border Cooperation Center and saw the development of China-Kazakhstan border trade.

This is the first cross-border economic zone established between China and other countries, and it covers an area of 5.6 square kilometers. It was officially put into operation in April 2012 and serves primarily as a platform for trade negotiations, product display and sales, warehousing and transportation. The cooperation center with hotels, restaurants and commercial service facilities can also provide services like hosting regional trade fairs as such. From its operation to the end of 2022, the cumulative number of people entering and exiting the cooperation center has reached 33.9696 million, achieving a trade volume of 55.09 billion yuan.
