HANGZHOU, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Four Chinese boxers took victories on Saturday at the Hangzhou Asian Games, with Chang Yuan also winning a berth at the 2024 Olympic Games.
Chang, gold medalist at the Jakarta 2018 Asian Games, defeated Huang Hsiao-wen of Chinese Taipei 5-0 in the women's 54kg division to progress to the semifinals, securing a Paris 2024 spot.
Tokyo Olympic silver medalist Li Qian defeated Valentina Khalzova of Kazakhstan to advance to the final four in the women's 75kg, but the 33-year-old was not satisfied with her performance.
"It's not my best situation. I've been in the Athletes' Village for quite a long time, which affected me a little bit, but this game will help me rediscover the competitive feeling soon," said Li.
"My aim here is simple, just winning the gold medal," she added.
Elsewhere, Lyu Ping defeated Muhammad Qasim of Pakistan in the men's 57kg to reach the quarterfinals, and Bayikewuzi Danabieke got past Byeknur Khali of Mongolia to make the semifinals in the men's +92kg.
