Shiliuyun-Xinjiang Daily (Reporter Yao Gang) On October 25, 2023, various kinds of birds such as swallow-tailed gulls, cormorants, and egrets flew and played in the reed marsh of Bosten Lake, northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and with the golden reed marshes and blue water, an intoxicating natural picture is created. Bosten Lake is the largest inland freshwater lake in China. In its surroundings, the lake nurtures 600,000 mu of reeds and has a beautiful ecological environment. It has become a home for birds and has also attracted many tourists to watch.
Guided by the vision of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", in recent years, Bohu County, Bayingolin Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has coordinated and promoted the comprehensive management of water ecology and water environment through wetland ecological protection and restoration projects. The ecological environment of Bosten Lake has continued to improve, becoming a home for birds to stay, forage, and breed during their migration.
