Tianshannet-Xinjiang Daily news (Reporters Han Qinyan and Gulnigar):

“What kind of makeup do you want?”

“A natural one is fine.”

“Okay, I’ll give you fresh make-up, and the hairstyle will be designed according to the shape of your face, so you’ll look young and cute.” On November 16, 2023, at the “Beautiful Hair Salon” in Qianjin Village, Naizeerbage Town, Kashi City, northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Buayxam Abdureyim began to do hair and makeup for customers.

Buayxam, 36, is a famous hairdresser in Naizeerbage. She not only has her own successful career, but also brings other girls together to improve the quality of their lives through hairdressing.

Buayxam has been fascinated by beauty salons since she was a child. After graduating from secondary school, she went to study at a beauty salon in Kashi for two years. At the end of 2016, Buayxam learnt professional hairdressing techniques.

“I opened the first beauty salon at my village. Although it’s only 15 square meters, I’m very happy.” Looking at the equipment in her beauty salon -- tables, shampoo chairs, and sterilizing cabinets, Buayxam feels touched and warm.

Gradually, with her exquisite skills and enthusiastic attitude, Buayxam has had more and more repeat customers in her beauty salon.

Villagers are pursuing a higher quality of life and are willing to spend money on appearances. Thus, being beautiful has become a new trend.

“Being beautiful is not exclusive to city ladies,” Buayxam said. “I want to make the women from rural areas look beautiful, too.”

In the past, there was no beauty salon in the village, so many women who love beauty often spend a lot of time going back and forth to the beauty salons in the urban area. Now, there is a “Beautiful Hair Salon” in the village waiting for them to visit in their spare time.

In order to keep up with the trend, Buayxam has actively participated in all kinds of hairdressing, makeup and dressing training organized in the village and township, and also learnt about hairdressing and styling on the Internet.

Buayxam’s “Beautiful Hair Salon” has expanded from 15 to 95 square meters. In the beginning, she set herself the goal of helping her fellows to step on the road to prosperity. She teaches makeup and hairdressing skills hand by hand, and over the years, she has trained ten young apprentices, eight of whom have opened their own beauty salons.

“She taught all the techniques without reservation, and now I have my own hair salon, so I am especially grateful to her,” said Patigul Turak, who has learnt for free for three years from Buayxam.

“The ‘Beautiful Hair Salon’ has helped me realize my dream of starting my own career. I am willing to provide free training for other girls learning hairdressing skills and do my best to help people around me,” Buayxam said. She is always on a way of loving beauty, creating beauty, and promoting beauty, and she grows along this way.
