Snow scenes of thousand-year-old Dahe Tangcheng ruins in NW China’s Xinjiang

Shiliuyun-Xinjiang Daily (Reporter Zhao Changfu) news: On November 30, 2023, a heavy snowfall added a quiet and distant charm to the Dahe Tangcheng ruins.

The Dahe Tangcheng ruins are located in the eastern part of Dongtouqu Village, Dahe Township, Barkol Kazak Autonomous County, Hami City, northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, 26 kilometers away from the county. It is 1,644 meters above sea level, with fertile land and abundant water resources. The famous "Dahe" originated from the underground spring in the east of the ancient city, which is very suitable for farming. The Dahe Tangcheng ruins are the largest and best-preserved ancient city site of the Tang Dynasty in Hami.
