Shiliuyun-Xinjiang Daily (Reporter Wang Jingjing) news: In winter, Xinjiang is like a garden of ice, covered in a blanket of snow. On December 18, 2023, a new media interview activity that pays special attention to Xinjiang's ice and snow resources kicked off.
On-site reports will be provided by an all-media reporting team. Reporters went to places such as Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture, Urumqi City, Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, and Altay Prefecture in northwest China’s Xinjiang, covering the snow-wrapped Xinjiang in winter season from all angles.
This winter is the first complete snow season after the Beijing Winter Olympics. The team will focus on telling stories about Xinjiang in culture, tourism, sports, and the industry of ice and snow in the post-Winter Olympics era, unveiling the vibrant life of all ethnic groups of Xinjiang in the winter season, as well as covering new highlights of pairing-up assistance to Xinjiang.
“This is my first time to Xinjiang. I want to look for true stories of Xinjiang in winter that are interesting and moving, to better present China to the world through telling good stories of Xinjiang,” said Liu Huining, a host of CGTN Fun China Studio of CMG. They will release programs concerning ice and snow economy, ice and snow sports, human rights protection and folk culture. The media group will also cooperate with media from Argentina, Mexico and Uruguay.
Sharing the same latitude, Altay Prefecture of Xinjiang and Heilongjiang Province are both striving to let ice and snow become valuable assets, making in-depth cooperation on the development of ice and snow sports, ice and snow tourism, and many other aspects. Before leaving for Xinjiang, Zhang Hao, a reporter from Heilongjiang Radio and Television Station, did thorough research. “My reports will focus on the achievements of Xinjiang with the help of Heilongjiang Province and how Altay Prefecture can leverage its geographical advantages to move towards high-quality development. I will find differences of ice and snow economy between the two places, and tell good stories of Xinjiang and Heilongjiang through my microphone and camera.”
This activity lasts for 7 days. The all-media reporting team will leverage new technologies and platforms, comprehensively utilizing diverse techniques such as livestreaming, graphics and text, charts, audio and video, and interaction, to continuously launch vivid works.
