The Hami 50-megawatt molten salt tower solar thermal power station is located in Yiwu County of Hami City, northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is one of the first national demonstration projects for solar thermal power generation and also the first solar thermal power generation project in Xinjiang. Compared to traditional power generation, the biggest advantage of solar thermal power generation is its ability to store energy.
