Shiliuyun-Xinjiang Daily (Reporter Yu Jiangyan, Correspondent Wang Fuquan) news: As of December 31, 2023, the total oil and gas production equivalent at the Shunbei oil and gas field Shendi-1 Project had exceeded 10 million tons, including 5.8884 million tons of crude oil and 5.173 billion cubic meters of natural gas.

In 2023, the oil and gas production equivalent of the Shunbei oil and gas field reached 3.0132 million tons, an increase of 463,000 tons compared to the previous year. Both crude oil and natural gas production have reached historic highs, marking the successful construction of a three million ton production capacity base.

Sinopec's Shunbei oil and gas field is one of the deepest commercial oil and gas fields in the world, and is also China's first oil and gas project under the name of "Shendi Engineering Project." The oil and gas reservoirs have the characteristics of ultra-deep, high temperature, and high pressure, with an average burial depth of over 7,300 meters, and some oil and gas resources are buried as deep as nearly 10,000 meters. The exploration and development of oil and gas in this area is considered a world-class challenge.

In 2016, Sinopec announced a major commercial oil and gas discovery in the Shunbei area of the Tarim Basin, achieving a significant breakthrough in new areas and new types of oil and gas. In January 2021, Sinopec completed the construction of a million-ton production capacity base in the Shunbei area. In August 2022, Sinopec named the Shunbei oil and gas field as the "Shendi Engineering Project· Shunbei Oil and Gas Field Base," renowned as the "Shendi-1 ."

In 2023, Sinopec Shunbei oil and gas field continued to instensify efforts on its basic and key technology research on ultra-deep oil and gas reservoirs. Significant progress has been made in the research on "fault, storage, and reservoir" and related issues in Shunbei oil and gas field, as well as in the technology for improving the accuracy in the grid reservoir structure description, and further improving the efficient exploration and development system of "Shendi Engineering Project".

Up to now, Shunbei oil and gas field has discovered two hundred million-ton-level and four ten million-ton-level rich oil and gas fault zones. Successful exploration in new areas between the fractured zones has enabled high oil and gas production. The accumulated proven geological reserves include 276 million tons of oil and 209.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas.

With the support and guidance of technological innovation, Shunbei oil and gas field has drilled 108 oil and gas wells with a depth exceeding 8,000 meters, and achieved significant oil and gas breakthroughs for six consecutive years. Five hundred million-ton-level oil and gas zones have been discovered, and the unit development cost of oil and gas has always remained at the forefront in China.
