In January 2024, Zhaosu County in Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, staged a scene of “Ten thousand steeds galloping.” Thousands of steeds galloped on the snow field, creating a spectacular scene. Horse racing has a long history in Zhaosu County. In recent years, Zhaosu County has held traditional ethnic equestrian events and performances frequently, and the scene of “Ten thousand steeds galloping” is the most popular in winter.
