On January, 4, 2024, the Buzkashi (horseback competition for possession of a goat) was held in Baerhai Township, Yanqi Hui Autonomous County, Bayingolin Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Riders showed their wonderful riding skills. Almost every township in Yanqi Hui Autonomous County has a Buzkashi team. And holding the Buzkashi has revitalized the lives of local farmers and herdsmen. In 2008, with the approval of the State Council, Buzkashi was listed in the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
