Explore the Beauty of Xinjiang: Where There Is a Need, We Stand Ready to Serve

Tianshannet-Xinjiang Daily (Reporter Han Qinyan) news: In early November, the women’s council of Huihuang Village, Yekexianbaibazha Township, Yopurga County, reported to the Yopurga County Women’s Federation that the chronic conflict between the villager Nuerbiya Aili and her husband had reached the point of divorce, and affected the normal life of their three children.

“I do business on WeChat, so I have befriended with my clients on the platform. But he did not understand, accusing me of flirting with other men, and beat me a few times,” Nuerbiya cried, “I have been enduring all this until now for my three young children.”

Nueramina Abulimiti, chairperson of the Yopurga County Women’s Federation, talked with the husband and wife respectively. “Your wife is doing business to lighten your financial burden. You two should trust and understand each other.”

Gradually, the husband Aihemaiti Aihaiti dispelled his doubt and promised, “I won’t blame her for no reason in the future.”

Over the years, the women’s council of the Yopurga County Women’s Federation has gradually become an intimate place for local women to talk about things big and small, and seek solutions.

“The women’s council in the village is composed of members of the village’s Party branch committee and the villagers committee, backbone women workers, and other women representatives with rich experience in keeping in touch with and serving the masses. They can collect women’s concerns and learn about their family situations on door-to-door visits,” said Nueramina.

The women’s council solves the “last-mile” problem of delivering services to households by holding on-site discussions for everyday concerns, paying home visits for the discussion of difficult matters, and organizing special meetings to discuss prominent matters.

“In the case of conflicts and disputes between husband and wife, mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, and financial disputes between the villagers, our council members will work together to make suggestions and mediate to resolve conflicts and disputes and prevent them from escalating,” said Buayixiemu Wubuli, a member of the Women’s Council, “Where there is a need, there is us.”

The Yopurga County Women’s Federation, in cooperation with multiple authorities, has set up women’s councils in 107 villages (communities) in nine townships in the county, and formed a network with such functions as public communications, consulting, prevention, shelter, disposal, and assistance for investigating and handling domestic conflicts and disputes, to effectively serve the women within its jurisdiction.

It’s early winter, and the vegetable planting base of Youkurikekeqi Village, Aiximan Town, Yopurga, is full of vitality and is as warm as if in spring. Aerziguli Reheman, a villager from Tuowanaiximan Village in the town, said, “I’ve got a stable job in the greenhouse. I can learn skills, and earn a fat paycheck which is enough to cover my family’s daily expenses.”

For the Yopurga County Women’s Federation, the top priority is always to promote women’s entrepreneurship and employment and increase their income. It has effectively improved women’s employment skills and broadened their employment channels by providing them with training on domestic services and handicrafts.

The Yopurga County Women’s Federation has implemented the training program to improve the skills of the owners of 93 hair salons in the county, opened with the help of the “Liangfawu Program”, inviting professionals to provide in-store training on a regular basis.

“At present, 85% of the hair salons are in normal operations, and they have increased the per capita income by RMB 3,000,” said An Lingyun, director of the Office of the Yopurga County Women’s Federation, “We shall deliver love and care to every woman in need.”
