On January 22, 2024, according to the data from Xuedu Airport in Altay City, since the opening of the 2023-2024 snow season, the passenger throughput of Xuedu Airport in Altay City has exceeded 120,000 people.

In recent years, with the increasing awareness of signs such as "the birthplace of human skiing," "China's snow capital," and "China's natural oxygen bar," the beautiful and unique natural environment of Altay City has deeply attracted tourists from all over the country, and the number of tourists visiting Altay City is also increasing.

Ning Jing, a tourist from Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, chose to come to the Jiangjunshan International Ski Resort in Altay City to spend the 2023-2024 snow season. The direct flights from Xi'an to Altay City have saved her a lot of travel time. She said, "This flight is very convenient. In less than four hours, I arrived in Altay City from Xi'an."

It is reported that since the start of the 2023-2024 snow season, Xuedu Airport in Altay City has opened special routes for winter snow tourism and skiing charter flights, door-to-door landing services, special counters and special inspection channels for snow equipment, free transport of snow equipment from the airport to the urban area, and other exclusive services to solve the inconvenience of traveling for ski tourists with more and heavier luggage.

At present, Xuedu Airport in Altay City has cooperated with 10 airlines, operating 12 routes and serving 17 cities including Beijing, Guangzhou, and Chengdu. Since the snow season of 2023-2024, Xuedu Airport in Altay City has ensured 1,256 inbound and outbound flights, with a passenger throughput of 129,300 people and a total of 200.716 tons of inbound and outbound cargo.
