“Xinjiang is a nice place” themed photo exhibition held in Jeju, South Korea

SEOUL, March 24 (China News Service) -- A photo exhibition themed "Xinjiang is a nice place" was held in Jeju, South Korea on March 22, 2024.

This event is hosted by the Korea-China Youth Friendship Association, and attended by Wang Luxin, the consul general of the Chinese Consulate General in Jeju; Gao Yunzhou, the Ambassador for International Relations to Jeju Province; Mubarak Mugaiti, the Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region; Wei Shijie, Chairman of the Korea-China Youth Friendship Association; Amu, the President of the Korea-China Youth Friendship Association; and other guests from all walks of life from China and South Korea.

Amu, as the representative of the organizer, delivered a welcome speech. He said that as a Uygur compatriot from Xinjiang, he is proud to receive guests from his hometown in Jeju, South Korea, and hold a picture exhibition showcasing the unique customs, splendid culture, and diverse development of China's Xinjiang. He said that it is expected to show more foreign friends through the exhibition to help them understand and perceive Xinjiang. He also invites, on behalf of Xinjiang people, everyone to visit Xinjiang.

According to Wang Luxin, this event aims to play a role of bridge that connects the people in South Korea's Jeju and China's Xinjiang, allowing more Korean friends to further understand, visit and perceive Xinjiang, and experience the rich culture and beautiful scenery of China's Xinjiang more realistically and accurately. It is hoped to bring each other closer, strengthen communication and cooperation, and jointly move towards a more prosperous and beautiful future.

Mubarak Mugaiti stated that Xinjiang and South Korea have broad prospects for cooperation in areas such as the digital economy, green economy, cross-border e-commerce, and health and wellness tourism. According to her, there is a Chinese saying, "Distance can not separate true friends who feel so close even when they are thousands of miles apart," that can best describe the relationship between the two places, as Xinjiang sincerely invites Korean friends to come to Xinjiang for sightseeing, inspection, guidance, and exchange and cooperation.

Gao Yunzhou expressed his congratulations on the themed photo exhibition being held in Jeju, South Korea. He also stated that both Xinjiang and Jeju Island have a long history and beautiful scenery. He hopes that this exhibition will become an opportunity for further development of exchanges and cooperation between Jeju and Xinjiang.

At the same time, there was also a briefing session on Xinjiang tourism resources and investment policies at the exhibition, which received widespread attention and warm praise from guests. Everyone praised the tremendous achievements made in the development of Xinjiang and looked forward to strengthening exchanges and cooperation to achieve common development.
