2024 "Chinese Bridge" Spring Camp for Students from SCO Countries opens

On April 15, 2024, nearly 500 young people from eight SCO countries including Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India, Pakistan, and Iran attended the opening ceremony of 2024 "Chinese Bridge" Spring Camp for Students from SCO Countries at Xinjiang Normal University.

Aili, a 15-year-old girl from No.5 Middle School of Astana in Kazakhstan, started learning Chinese at the age of 10 and won the first prize in the first Chinese Show of "Chinese Bridge" for Foreign Primary Schools. "This is my first time to China, and I want to learn more about Chinese culture, make Chinese friends. I want to become a cultural exchange ambassador."

Aili loves China. After arriving in Urumqi City, she went to Xinjiang Museum, Xinjiang International Grand Bazaar and other places. She said that China’s Xinjiang has vast territory and abundant resources, and people in Xinjiang are hospitable. She has taken a lot of videos and prepared to share with her classmates after returning to Kazakhstan.

Ru Yi, a student at Doon University in India, was very interested in the performances of martial arts such as sabreplay, cudgel play, double whips, Tai Chi, Shaolin boxing, etc. Ru Yi is very fond of Chinese martial arts, and Jackie Chan is one of her most admired martial arts stars in China. Currently, Ru Yi has been studying Chinese at the Confucius Institute of Doon University for three years. Interestingly, under her influence, her parents have also fallen in love with Chinese culture, and they often watch Chinese movies and listen to Chinese songs together. "After graduating from university, I still want to go to China to pursue a master's degree and study Chinese history and culture," Ru Yi said.
