In 2023, Changji achieved a regional gross domestic product (GDP) of 232.9 billion yuan(about 32.08 billion U.S. dollars), ranking second in entire Xinjiang, with a year-on-year growth of 7.7 percent. The total fixed asset investment of this region reached 72.3 billion yuan(about 9.95 billion U.S. dollars), with a 24 percent year-on-year growth. The added value of the large-scale industrial enterprises was 91 billion yuan(about 12.53 billion U.S. dollars), with 10 percent year-on-year growth, maintaining its top position in Xinjiang.

The main economic indicators of the prefecture have been at the forefront of the region. From January to May of this year, the added value of large-scale industrial enterprises and the fixed asset investment in Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture grew by 19.0 percent and 13.5 percent year-on-year respectively, with the overall economic operation being generally stable and improving. During this six-day trip, journalists will visit Changji City, Fukang City, Manas County, Mulei Kazak Autonomous County, Qitai County, Zhundong Economic-Technological Development Park, Changji National Agricultural Science and Technology Park, and Changji National High-Tech Industry Development Zone to closely observe the prefecture's path towards high-quality development.
