From June 25 to July 2, 2024, a British delegation visited northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. During their visit, they went to Urumqi City, Turpan City, Kashi City, and Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture. The delegation attended the opening ceremony of the 8th China-Eurasia Expo and explored various scenic spots, ports, schools, and other places in Xinjiang. Through their firsthand experiences, they gained a deeper understanding of Xinjiang's social stability, economic development, cultural prosperity, ethnic unity, religious harmony, and the daily lives of the local people.

Roger McKenzie, an international editor of Morning Star, expressed his pleasure at attending the Expo and praised the Chinese government's unwavering commitment to international cooperation and mutual development. He also commended the government’s efforts to strengthen connections between people. McKenzie described Xinjiang as a region that is prospering. As a journalist who covers international affairs, he would like to share his observations and experiences in Xinjiang with the readers of the Morning Star to help them gain a better understanding of the region.
