Over the decade since the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) was first proposed, international exchanges and cooperation have flourished, drawing numerous young scholars from BRI participating countries to embark on their academic pursuits in China. Hadiya is a shining example among this wave of international students. She met Dilxat Tursun, a young man from Xinjiang, during their vibrant campus days, and their acquaintance blossomed into a romantic relationship that transcended national borders.
After graduation, this international couple joined hands to establish a unique coffee shop named "Dili & Diya Cafe" in the Ancient City of Kashi. The story of this transnational couple went viral online, warming the hearts of countless people. In a recent exclusive interview, Hadiya expressed her profound love for the city of Kashi and said in her conversation with her family that the kindness and friendliness of the people of Xinjiang have made her feel a sense of belonging and happiness on this land. “I'm totally happy there", said Hadiya.
