Shiliuyun-Xinjiang Daily (Reporter Wang Na) news: At about 10 am on August 29, with the departure of the international flight CZ6075 from Urumqi to Almaty, the Urumqi Diwopu International Airport has seen more than 130,000 international travelers, and 1,346 inbound and outbound flights since the start of summer transportation, representing an increase of 59 percent and 109 percent respectively in the number of passengers and flights compared with the same period last year.

Although the summer transportation rush is currently approaching its end, the volume of inbound and outbound passengers at the Urumqi Diwopu International Airport remains relatively stable. According to statistics from the Urumqi Branch of the Xinjiang Exit-Entry Frontier Inspection General Station, since the beginning of the summer transportation period in July, the volume of inbound and outbound passengers at the Urumqi Diwopu International Airport has remained high due to the in-depth implementation of a series of convenience policies for immigration. The highest single-day peak occurred on August 21, reaching 2,865 passengers.
In response to the peak passenger flow during the summer holidays, the Urumqi Exit-Entry Frontier Inspection Station has scientifically organized its operations and, based on the dynamic passenger flow, promptly dispatched additional police forces, opened additional channels, accelerated inspection speeds in real-time horizontally, and enhanced the overall port capacity vertically. Given the prevalence of "tour groups," "family trips," and "student tours," the Urumqi Exit-Entry Frontier Inspection Station has increased the number of guiding positions, strengthened customs clearance guidance and consultation responses, and made every effort to ensure safe, smooth, and efficient customs clearance for inbound and outbound passengers.
"I've always been fascinated by the beautiful China’s Xinjiang, and I'm thrilled to be here on this trip," said Austrian tourist Abay Zhaniya. "'China Travel' has become a hot topic worldwide, and that's why I chose to transit through Almaty to come to Xinjiang, China. Although it was already the early morning of August 26 when I arrived in Urumqi City, the border police provide warm and considerate services to both Chinese and foreign passengers in high spirits. This made me feel the warmth and hospitality of the Chinese people, and I'm full of expectations for the rest of my trip."
It is learned that since the beginning of this year, with the restoration, addition, and frequency increase of multiple international passenger air routes, as well as the implementation of various inbound and outbound convenience policies such as visa-free policies, the number of people coming to China via the Urumqi Diwopu International Airport for business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, and transit has steadily increased. "The volume of inbound and outbound passengers at the port this year is the highest in the past four years," said Feng Chao, instructor of the Third Duty Squad of the Urumqi Exit-Entry Frontier Inspection Station.
According to statistics from the Urumqi Exit-Entry Frontier Inspection Station, the Urumqi Diwopu International Airport has opened 19 routes to and from countries (regions) such as Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, and Pakistan, all connected to Urumqi. "The robust customs clearance data demonstrates the increasingly close exchanges between China and other countries, and is also a vivid portrayal of China's high-quality development and high-level opening-up," said Wu Yong, deputy director of the Urumqi Exit-Entry Frontier Inspection Station.
