WADB to finance 3 structural projects in Cote d'Ivoire

ABIDJAN, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- During a Council of Ministers meeting Wednesday in Abidjan, the Ivorian government approved three decrees ratifying loan agreements concluded between Cote d'Ivoire and the West African Development Bank (WADB).

Once these agreements are ratified, WADB will disburse a total of 81.6 billion CFA francs (approximately 138 million U.S. dollars) to finance three major structural projects in Cote d'Ivoire.

First, WADB will provide 21.6 billion CFA francs (37 million dollars) for the construction and equipping of ten civic service centers throughout the country, which aims to accelerate the professional integration of vulnerable youth by offering them technical training and fostering their civic engagement.

Second, WADB will allocate 30 billion CFA francs (51 million dollars) for the development and paving of the main roadway in the northern part of the country, which aims to open up various localities in this area and facilitate trade with neighboring countries.

Third, WADB will allocate 30 billion CFA francs (51 million dollars) for the rehabilitation of two administrative buildings in Abidjan, with the goal of strengthening the real estate assets of the Republic of Cote d'Ivoire.
