Not long ago, the China (Xinjiang)-Central Asia Media Salon was held at the China-Kazakhstan Horgos International Border Cooperation Center, where more than 40 media journalists and think tank scholars from China and Central Asia countries gathered to discuss and exchange views on working together for a China-Central Asia community with a shared future and promoting the Belt and Road Initiative.
Farkhad Kassenov, expert of the A + Analytics Research Center in Almaty, Kazakhstan, said: "I haven't been to so many places in Xinjiang, but what I have seen definitely impressed me that Xinjiang is developing. We see roads and buildings being built and improvements in people's livelihoods, all of which are visible. There are countless examples of this. And in short, the region is developing."
In his view, people from various countries should understand each other and enhance communication, as the lack of communication can lead to stereotypes or even negative impressions. "The most important thing is to fight against stereotypes and to see the diversity of the world," he said.
