In September 2024, Italian hiker Vienna Cammarota arrived in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, embarking on a hiking journey along the Chinese section of the ancient Silk Road. Despite the concerns of her family and friends, Vienna resolutely set off on her path of exploration.

She said during an interview with InXinjiang that upon arriving in Xinjiang, she found that the warmth, kindness, and friendliness of the people in Xinjiang were starkly different from the sad news she had heard in Italy.

Vienna’s journey is not only an exploration of Xinjiang's natural scenery and cultural landscapes but also a journey of spiritual exchange. She said, "Entering China was a huge emotion for me."
