InXinjiang㉛丨Deputy Editor-in-Chief for News Ghana: There's nothing to worry about in Xinjiang

The 6th World Media Summit, themed "Artificial Intelligence and Media Transformation," opened in Urumqi on October 14, 2024. The summit gathered over 500 participants from 106 countries and regions, including representatives of 208 mainstream media outlets, government agencies and international organizations. They came together to exchange ideas and discuss cutting-edge topics in media development, gaining a real and comprehensive understanding of China.

From October 15 to 16, some participants visited the Tianshan Tianchi scenic area, Xinjiang Islamic Institute, and the Xinjiang International Grand Bazaar. Francis Kobena Tandoh, Deputy Editor-in-Chief for News Ghana, expressed his admiration for the beautiful natural scenery and the hospitality of the Xinjiang locals. He was impressed by the achievements in Xinjiang's economic and social development, as well as the region's efforts in protecting the ecological environment. He noted that because of the negative narratives from Western media, there used to be misperceptions about China. "When I came to Xinjiang, China, and saw the true situation here, I realized that those were negative propaganda against China by the West," he said.
