A two-day Buzkashi competition held in Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture, NW China’s Xinjiang

Shiliuyun-Xinjiang Daily (Reporter Qin Meihua) news: On November 16, 2024, a two-day Buzkashi competition kicked off at the Horse Culture Industry Park in Majiazhuangzi Village, Xihu Street, Urumqi Economic and Technological Development Zone (Toutunhe District), northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The contestants gave their all, and the competition was very exciting.

Ili horse, as one of the key horses breeds in Xinjiang, has become an excellent breed in China. Previously, the Horse Culture Industry Park in Majiazhuangzi Village, Urumqi Economic and Technological Development Zone (Toutunhe District), had held multiple horse racing events such as test races and speed races. This is also the first time that a test race of the Buzkashi has been held, attracting a total of six teams from Urumqi and Changji to participate in.
