On December 16, 2024, after a heavy snow in the vast Gobi Desert of Kizil Township, Baicheng County, Aksu Prefecture, northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, a group of Mongolian gazelles ran freely in the snowfield, like lively spirits, adding vitality and energy to the cold winter.
In recent years, with the continuous strengthening of ecological environment protection efforts in Kizil Township of Baicheng County, the living environment of the Mongolian gazelle has significantly improved. Relevant departments have effectively addressed problems like illegal hunting and habitat destruction through a series of measures, including establishing nature reserves, enhancing patrol enforcement, and carrying out ecological restoration. As a result, the population of Mongolian gazelle has gradually stabilized and shown a slow growth trend. It is believed that with everyone's joint protection, the Mongolian gazelle will continue to live happily on this plateau.
