The 22.13-km Tianshan Shengli Tunnel, the world's longest expressway tunnel, completed tunneling on December 30, 2024, marking another magnificent achievement in China's expressway tunnel construction. The completion of the tunnel has shortened the journey time across the Tianshan Mountains from the original three hours to just about 20 minutes, significantly enhancing regional transportation efficiency.
