In the midst of cold winter, the livestock markets in Payzawat County, Kashi Prefecture, northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, are bustling. In the livestock market of Payzawat County, vendors come and go in a steady stream, carefully selecting their purchases. The livestock breeders are full of enthusiasm, providing detailed introductions of their livestock and negotiating prices, which is bustling yet orderly.

"This market is really convenient. In less than an hour, I bought more than 50 sheep!" Naibijiang Keyimu, the cattle and sheep vendor, said with a smile. Meanwhile, Kerimu Aikemu, a livestock breeder, had just sold a cow for over ten thousand yuan (about 1362 U.S. dollars).

The livestock market in Payzawat County, a modern market covering an area of 3.3 hectares, is located in Yipaikeqi Village, Jiangbazi Township, Kashi Prefecture, northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, adjacent to the Makit to Kashi Expressway and Huijia Trade Center in Payzawat County. It has a superior geographical location and convenient transportation. Since its opening in November 2024, it has quickly become an important hub for livestock trading not only in the county but also in the Kashi Prefecture. The market features seven cattle and sheep trading areas and four feed areas, with a daily average transaction volume of over a thousand cattle, over five thousand sheep, and over a hundred camels, with a transaction value reaching up to 15 million yuan (about 2 million U.S. dollars).

Ruzhaji Yisireyili, the person in charge of the livestock market in Payzawat County, introduced that the market is equipped with 18 staff members who provide comprehensive services to ensure a safe and comfortable trading environment. In the future, we will further improve the market's functional system to create better trading conditions for livestock breeders and vendors.

The Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Bureau and the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station of Payzawat County are also taking active measures. From market planning and construction standard review to professional training, they provide comprehensive guarantees for the safe and efficient operation of the market. Quarantine personnel are stationed at the market to provide free quarantine services, ensuring the health and safety of livestock. Dedicated personnel patrol the market to regulate order and mediate disputes, ensuring to create a fair and just trading environment.
