Tograk means "surrounded by mountains on all sides". The village is about 70 kilometers away from urban area of Aksu City, Xinjiang’s Aksu Prefecture. It is located in the northern mountainous area of Wensu County of Aksu Prefecture, and is affiliated with the Tianshan Tomur scenic spot a national 5A-level tourist scenic spot. It is surrounded by mountains on all sides and backs against Tomur Peak, the highest peak of the Tianshan Mountains. It boasts various high-quality natural resources such as glaciers, snow-capped mountains, forests, and grasslands. In particular, the unique scenery like the Danxia landscape form within the village attracts numerous tourists to come and take pictures.

"Since the scenic spot was rated as a 5A-level scenic area, the popularity of Tograk Village has soared. In these days, there are many tourists coming to ski, enjoy the scenery, and experience the homestays. Everyone wants to experience the newly rated 5A-level scenic spot," said Zhang Hangtian, the marketing director of Tograk Village, on December 30, 2024. In recent years, with the continuous promotion of ice and snow tourism in Xinjiang, the winter scenery of Tograk Village has become popular on the internet for winter tourism in the Aksu Prefecture, receiving an average of 500 tourists per day, and even more during holidays.

Tograk Village is rich in winter ice and snow tourism resources. The ski slopes paved with natural powder snow make it one of the highest-quality ski resorts in southern Xinjiang. Besides, there are many unique accommodations here, such as Shede Inn, train-themed Hotel, and Xingchen Inn. The animals that suddenly "pop up" can always bring surprises to tourists. "In the morning, tourists can drink coffee, enjoy the scenery, and go skiing here. In the evening, they can choose a favorite inn and admire the winter starry sky," Zhang Hangtian said.

"During winter, the best thing in Tograk Village is to read a book, and look at the mountains in a quiet courtyard. Every year during my vacation, I like to stay here for a while, read books, and empty my mind," said Wang Weiwei, a tourist. In her eyes, the winter in Tograk Village is like a fairytale world of snow. The morning mist that shrouds the village makes it seem dreamy and illusory. When the sun shines brightly at noon, the village is full of vitality. And in the evening, a wisp of smoke rising from the kitchen chimneys under the setting sun makes it full of a homely atmosphere.

Zhang Hangtian introduced that Tograk Village improves its infrastructure every year and also launches new serial products and scenarios according to local conditions. It holds ice and snow tourism festivals, skiing performances, folk performances, hot pot food exhibitions, bonfire parties, photography contests, disco parties, and other activities. It also intends to invite intangible cultural heritage craftsmen like those “Datiehua” show, which literally means to "beat the iron flower", to perform here. The diverse business forms make tourists experience cultural charm while having fun.

"We are also actively driving the surrounding farmers and herdsmen to start businesses and increase their incomes while developing tourism. We have established a bazaar with a theme of intangible cultural heritage in the scenic spot to sell food, local specialties, and so on," Zhang Hangtian said. Nowadays, most of the employees in Tograk Village are surrounding farmers and herdsmen, indirectly driving nearly 300 local people to start businesses and increase their incomes.
