Take the first "Tomur" express passenger train to visit Aksu in 2025

Shiliuyun-Xinjiang Daily (Reporter Zou Yi) news: "The train is faster than before and has been converted to all-berth coaches, making it more convenient for travelers returning home." On the evening of January 5, 2024, Mareguli Bawudong, a student at Xinjiang Agricultural University, was set to take the "Tomur" express passenger train back to her hometown.

On January 5, 2025, Xinjiang's first "Tomur" express passenger train departed from Urumqi Station. More than 700 passengers on board arrived in Aksu City at 8:45 the following day.

The "Tomur" brand train covers a distance of 1,012 kilometers between Urumqi and Aksu, with a travel time of nine hours and 45 minutes. This makes it the fastest passenger train currently operating between the two locations.

The first "Tomur" express passenger train incorporates diverse culture and folk elements in the interior and exterior decoration of the carriage, making the train eye-catching from the outside.

"We incorporate the unique characteristics and cultural landscape of Aksu Prefecture into our carriage design. This includes customized pillows, paper cups, door panels, and doorplates that reflect the cultural and tourism attributes of Aksu. Our goal is to allow passengers to fully immerse themselves in the local culture," said Bei Nan, deputy manager of the Advertising Department, Xinjiang Railway Tourism Development Group Co., Ltd.
