Shiliuyun-Xinjiang Daily (Reporter Hu Damin) news: During the Spring Festival, there will be ice and snow activities, fireworks show at Chinese New Year's Eve, cultural temple fairs, and flower exhibitions... People can experience the charm of the Spring Festival in the park near home in Urumqi, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

On January 20, 2025, according to the Urumqi Forestry and Grassland Bureau (Gardening Administration) that during the Spring Festival, various parks in Urumqi will hold a series of recreational activities, including ice and snow park tours, cultural temple fairs, and flower exhibitions.

During the Spring Festival, People's Park in Urumqi will host a winter carnival event, along with a food event and a Shehuo performance.

From January 29 to February 12, Hongshan Park in Urumqi will host a large-scale temple fair during the Spring Festival. There will be ancient folk art of Shehuo, and visitors can also enjoy a variety of food.

The Urumqi Botanical Garden will hold a flower exhibition and research activity during the Spring Festival. "The flower exhibition features amaryllis as the theme flower, combined with hundreds of varieties such as plum blossoms, Asian lilies, hyacinths, and daffodils, totaling over 10,000 pots of flowers," said Liu Zhonghua, staff of the Urumqi Botanical Garden. The flower exhibition combines science popularization, sightseeing, and culture, showcasing the diverse beauty of flowers with a rich variety of types.

During the Spring Festival, the 4,800-square-meter flower market and the 5,000-square-meter Ice and Snow World in the botanical garden will be open to the public as usual.

Urumqi Tianshan Park has transformed its scenic artificial lake into a 10,000-square-meter outdoor ice and snow amusement park, featuring a speed skating area and a variety of ice and snow entertainment experiences. During the Spring Festival, people can enjoy over 30 ice and snow activities in the park, including ice skating, snowmobiles, go-karts, and ice bicycles.

People's Park of Midong District in Urumqi will hold a temple fair during the Spring Festival, where the people can enjoy traditional Chinese lantern displays, taste special delicacies, and browse the market.

During the Spring Festival, people can enjoy ice sculptures, snow sculptures, ice and snow light shows, and drone performances at Urumqi Cultural Park, experiencing ice and snow entertainment and ice and snow dining culture. On the Chinese New Year's Eve, a 15-minute fireworks show can also be seen.

Urumqi Xiaolyugu Ecological Park has currently set up thousands of colorful lights around the park and the Weitai Bridge, and the park will also hold various hiking and fitness activities during the Spring Festival.

During the Spring Festival, parks and squares such as Hongguangshan Ecological Park in Urumqi, People's Park in Midong District, and Nanhu Square will hold a series of ice and snow activities.

During the Spring Festival, People's Square, Sports Park, Yan'an Park, Jianquan Street Park, and Xiaolyugu Ecological Park in Urumqi will collaborate with local communities to host various cultural activities.
