Shiliuyun-Xinjiang Daily (Reporter Yin Lu) news: During the Spring Festival, art delegations from Xinjiang, Yunnan, and Zhejiang in China were invited by the Chinese Embassy in Thailand and the China Cultural Center in Bangkok to participate in a series of activities celebrating the 2025 Spring Festival in Thailand. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of China-Thailand diplomatic relations. The Spring Festival has long been a cultural bond connecting the people of China and Thailand. For over 20 years, the two countries have continuously collaborated on these events, which have significantly boosted cultural cooperation between them.

During the event, performers from the Muqam Art Troupe of Xinjiang Art Theatre presented wonderful programs at various venues. There were modern and vibrant ethnic folk dances that showcased the rich cultural diversity and ethnic harmony in Xinjiang. There were also many well-known classic songs that captured the essence of Chinese culture. Additionally, there were beautiful dances that depicted the stunning landscapes and unique folk customs of Xinjiang. The local audience in Thailand also enjoyed the exquisite dance "Zhula." It is part of the "Uygur Muqam of Xinjiang," which has been inscribed on UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This performance fully demonstrated the creative transformation and innovative development of intangible cultural heritage protection and inheritance in Xinjiang.

During the event, a Spring Festival temple fair was also held, where several inheritors of Chinese intangible cultural heritage showcased traditional skills such as kite-making, sugar painting, dough modeling, and clay sculpting.
Nakhon Sawan, a city in central Thailand, was one of the performance venues for this event. It is one of the main settlements for overseas Chinese in Thailand and is known for its grand and representative Chinese New Year celebrations. The celebration activities included a parade of flower-decorated floats, traditional temple fairs, dragon and lion dances, and fireworks displays.

"This Spring Festival marks the first celebration following the successful inscription of "Chinese New Year" on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity,” said Wang Chenjun, secretary of the Muqam Art Troupe of the Xinjiang Art Theatre Party Committee, "We have brought traditional music and dance performances featuring the Uygur Muqam of Xinjiang and other intangible cultural heritages to this event. Through these wonderful singing and dancing arts, we hope to enable more people to comprehensively and deeply understand China’s Xinjiang, including its vast territory, colorful culture, rich folk customs, and harmonious and progressive social life."
