Our guest for this episode of InXinjiang is Maryna Belkova, a journalist from Belarus. This is her second visit to Xinjiang. Walking on the frozen surface of Kanas Lake, she was deeply captivated by the stunning scenery and the vibrant cultural activities of the local community. She expressed that the integration of modern infrastructure with natural landscapes was precisely why she admired the region.

When asked about Western media coverage of Xinjiang, Maryna said she doesn’t want to read Western media reports about Xinjiang because those outlets always have biases against the region. She explained that she prefers to see Xinjiang with her own eyes—which is why she came here now. She believes experiencing everything personally is the only way to truly understand the place.
