Shiliuyun-Xinjiang Daily (Reporter Wang Lihua) news: On April 16, 2025, in the smart greenhouses of Yingguan Pastoral Town in Yingxia Township, Korla City, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, blueberries, raspberries, and Taiwanese morus laevigata have all set fruit, with visitors enthusiastically picking them. This pastoral town, which covers an area of 5.5 hectares and features 25 smart greenhouses, was founded by three young people from Korla City.

Among these three young people, Zhu Xingkai and Zhang Xinglei are from the post-90s generation, while Fang Zhongju was born in 1989. They are good friends. Four years ago, after conducting practical research, they decided to create a smart orchard and introduced specialty fruits such as Taiwanese morus laevigata, blueberries, and raspberries. However, these fruits, which are typical of subtropical climates, are highly region-specific and have very stringent requirements for water, soil, light, and heat conditions. At the beginning of their venture, they faced the dual challenges of a lack of funds and technical gaps. They traveled across provinces to learn from others, improved the soil's pH levels, introduced intelligent temperature control and precision irrigation systems, established crop growth data models, and managed to keep the greenhouse environment fluctuations within ±2°C.

Within the greenhouses, they meticulously observe every minor change of the fruit trees and carefully record all the data. Through repeated trials, they have successfully acclimated delicate varieties such as blueberries to the significant diurnal temperature variations and arid climate of Xinjiang. Currently, the orchard has developed a distinctive array of eight fruit varieties. Some of the fruit trees are now in the harvest season. Around the May Day holiday, the pastoral town will officially open to tourists, offering everyone the opportunity to enjoy the pleasure of fruit picking and to experience rural life.
