China revealed a list of archaeological findings as its top 10 discoveries for 2024 in April 24, 2025, with the Mo'er Temple ruins in Kashi Prefecture, NW China's Xinjiang, selected as a finalist. On that day, sunset light spilled across the weathered walls of the Mo'er Temple ruins. Discovered as one of the best-preserved earthen architectural Buddhist pagodas in western China, the temple dates back to the 1st century CE.
