From September 22 to 24, 2023, representatives of the World Medical Association Council embarked on a research tour in Kashi Prefecture, northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. During their visit, they visited various institutions and landmarks in Kashi City, including museums, schools, health centers, hospitals and scenic spots. This experience provided them with an in-depth understanding of the achievements Xinjiang has made in economic and social development, medical and health services, and the inheritance and protection of various ethnic cultures.
Wonchat Subhachaturas, the former president of the World Medical Association, and executive committee member of the Medical Association of Thailand, said in the interview that the development of medical and health care in Xinjiang is very well done. He expressed a strong interest in Chinese medicine acupuncture, with high praise for its work.
