On October 16, 2023, a delegation of Indonesian religious figures arrived in China's Xinjiang, and visited its Kashi Prefecture, Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture and Urumqi City. During their stay in Xinjiang, the delegation team visited mosques, bazaars, enterprises, scenic spots, and other places in Xinjiang to understand the real situation of Xinjiang's social stability, economic development, cultural prosperity, ethnic unity, religious harmony, and the well-being of people of all ethnic groups.
During this trip, the delegation visited the Id Kah Mosque in Kashi City, the Shaanxi Grand Mosque in Yining City, the Baida Mosque and the Xinjiang Islamic Institute in Urumqi City to exchange ideas with religious figures and understand the real situation in Xinjiang. Geys Bin Abdurrahman Assegaf said that this trip made him realize that Xinjiang is not a place that has so-called "religious oppression," and it is a place where people will feel happy if they come.
