Fernando Sanchez Cipitria, the legendary figure who has been galloping across the green fields for years, is now continuing to pen his football saga as a coach. He was a star in Spanish football, participating in nearly 300 international matches and successfully win La Liga champion. Yet, his football journey didn't end; it evolved into a coaching career, where he persists in contributing his strength to the beautiful game.
Now, Fernando has taken the helm as head coach at Xinjiang Silk Road Eagles. During his time in Xinjiang, he delved into the local football culture and atmosphere. He has witnessed children playing football in the streets and alleys, sensing their passion and longing for the game. He believes that the players from Xinjiang possess unique talent and creativity; and as long as they are given enough platform and opportunities, they will be able to showcase their abilities.
As the head coach of Xinjiang Silk Road Eagles, Fernando has led the team to remarkable achievements in a short time. The team won the championship title in the Xinjiang division of the CFA Member Association Champions League after its establishment. He believes that with continued dedication, their ranks will grow stronger and Xinjiang football will become increasingly professionalized.
